We have created, what we believe, to be the perfect gift for your Mum this Mother's Day. We decided to focus on the charcuterie set because we thought it would be such a special way for your mum to remember you when she is having a cheese platter with her friends, or when she pulls it out for sunset drinks when you are not around. A personalised message can be such a special way to remind our mothers, just how much we love them.
These gift boxes are made by hand by us, The Fifth Design. A group of artisans in Australia who absolutely adore creating art and sharing it with the world. These pieces are all 100% unique, no two designs can ever be replicated which just makes each piece all the more special. We use an incredibly hard and robust timber called, Camphor Laurel. This wood is not only beautiful, but it is also antibacterial. There have been tests done of these specific chopping boards and after ten years, there was still no bacteria residing in the wood! What is more (and probably our favourite part) is that it is an incredibly sustainable source of timber. Our workshop is based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia and Camphor Laurel is considered an invasive species in our natural habitat. The harvesting of this species is a fantastic way to protect our landscape. A win win!
