Each coaster is hand-poured by our makers. The resin runs through the channel, the pour never flows the same. Together as a set, they belong without matching.

When your set arrives in our studio, we engrave it in-house with your name, your initials, or a word per coaster. Complimentary, no added wait.

The bits people ask about before they buy.
How many can I get in a set?
Choose two, four, six, eight, or ten coasters in your colourway. The six-pack includes a complimentary sixth coaster. Each coaster is 10 cm square and 1 cm thick, sized to fit a standard wine glass, a beer glass, a coffee cup, or a tumbler.
Are they heat-resistant?
The acacia hardwood handles standard hot drinks comfortably. The resin surface is decorative and not designed for direct heat from a teapot or hot pan, so place very hot items on the timber side of the coaster, or use a trivet for serving dishes.
How do I clean them?
Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Hand wash with a mild detergent if needed. Never the dishwasher. Refresh the timber with a drop of food-grade oil occasionally to keep the acacia hydrated.
Will they slide on a glass or marble table?
The base of each coaster is sanded smooth but not glossy, so they grip most surfaces well. On polished glass or marble, place them slightly inset from the edge of the table for safety. They are not coasters with rubber feet, so they will move if pushed.
Can I engrave them?
Yes. We can engrave each coaster, or just one, with initials, a date, or a short word on the timber portion. Some customers do a different word on each coaster. Complimentary, done in-house, no added dispatch time.
Are these the same coasters that come in the gift sets?
Yes. The coasters we include in gift bundles are exactly the same as the ones sold here. Buying the set on its own is for your own home. Buying a gift bundle just adds a board, knife, or bowl into the same gift box.
What if they do not work for our table?
We accept returns within 30 days, including engraved sets. Email hello@thefifthdesign.com.au and we will arrange a return label.
