How engraving works.

All engraving is done in-house in our Sunshine Coast studio using a precision laser. The text is permanently etched into the timber side of the board, so it becomes part of the piece. Engraving is free on every personalised product, and you can choose what to engrave at checkout.

What can be engraved. Names, initials, dates, quotes, family mottos, song lyrics, vows, line drawings, logos, addresses. Anything that fits within the character limit and reads cleanly at the board's scale.

A few things to keep in mind.

  • Character limits vary by product. Most boards: 30 to 60 characters across one or two lines.
  • The font is set, and is designed to look beautiful on Camphor Laurel.
  • We engrave exactly what you submit. Please double-check spelling, capitalisation and punctuation.
  • If you'd like a mockup before we engrave, leave a note at checkout or email customersupport@thefifthdesign.com.au within a few hours of placing your order.
  • You can return engraved items within 30 days under our standard returns policy.
